Getting started
Loopyback lives in your browser and turns everyday clicks into polished, step-by-step guides. Before you record your first workflow you'll need to install the extension and sign in — it takes less than a minute and nothing you capture leaves your machine until you choose to share it.
Once installed, the Loopyback icon appears in your toolbar. Click it to start a capture, open a recent guide, or jump into your workspace settings.
- Add Loopyback to Chrome from the Web Store and pin it to your toolbar.
- Sign in with your work email to sync guides across devices.
- Open any web app you want to document and press Start capture.
- Click through your process, then press Finish to generate the guide.
Capturing a workflow
A capture records each meaningful action — clicks, typed input and navigation — and pairs it with an auto-zoomed screenshot of the element you interacted with. Loopyback writes a plain-language description for every step, so a finished guide reads like something a colleague wrote by hand.
Work at your normal pace. You can pause a capture at any time if you need to check something, then resume exactly where you left off without creating duplicate steps.
- Press Start capture and complete your task normally.
- Use Pause to skip over irrelevant clicks or private tabs.
- Passwords and hidden fields are never recorded.
- Press Finish and your guide opens ready to edit.
Automatic PII redaction
Loopyback scans every screenshot for sensitive information and blurs it before a guide is ever shared. Emails, phone numbers, card details, account numbers and names are detected automatically, so you don't have to remember to hide them.
Redaction is fully reversible in the editor while you work, and locked in the moment you export or publish. You can also add manual blur regions to hide anything the detector doesn't catch.
- Sensitive fields are blurred by default across every step.
- Review redactions in the editor and toggle any block on or off.
- Draw a manual blur region to cover custom or one-off data.
- Redactions are baked into exports and shared links permanently.
Exporting & sharing
When a guide is ready, share it the way your team works. Publish a live link that stays up to date as you edit, or export a self-contained file to drop into a wiki, help center or onboarding handbook.
Every export keeps your redactions, step order and annotations intact, so the finished document looks exactly like what you see in the editor.
